The Sunshine Health staff is focused on the complete health and rehabilitation of every resident. One-on-one physical therapy is offered through Sunshine Health & Rehab, where our Sunshine-employed skilled and licensed staff are focused on the health and rehabilitation of every resident inside and out. Sunshine Physical Therapists abide by the standards and guidelines of the American Physical Therapy Association. Physical therapy helps restore body function, increase mobility, decrease pain, and prevent long-term injuries.
Sunshine is a privately-owned healthcare facility with a mission of caring for the whole health of the individual. Our on-site therapy gym allows residents to receive daily care every day of the week by our Sunshine-employed licensed therapy staff. Additionally, each resident seeking physical therapy services will receive a custom physical therapy plan tailored to their specific needs to help them recover faster following an on-site physical consultation. They can swiftly and safely work towards achieving independence and focus on healing. All of these conditions (and more) have proven rehabilitation results through physical therapy.

What Does Physical Therapy Treat?

How much therapy will I receive at Sunshine?
The amount of therapy varies depending on your primary diagnosis, additional health conditions, cognitive impairment, mechanical/swallowing disorder, and health plan. For example, Medicare Part A covers 100 days of post-acute care where the patient stayed at least three days in an acute care hospital. Other times, Medicare Part B will cover certain therapies.
What is the difference between PT and OT?
Physical therapy focuses on healing and getting the body moving while occupational therapy focuses on specific activities such as modifying and adapting (such as driving, using mobility equipment)
Can I do PT at Home?
Our very experienced physical and occupational therapy team implements the best assessment and treatment tools directed at improved balance, strength, and confidence to maximize function and minimize falls.
