When healthcare and rehabilitation therapy cannot be administered in the home, Sunshine Health & Rehab is the right choice for your mom or dad recovering from surgery such as knee replacement, illness, accidents, orthopedic injuries, cardiac events, or strokes.
Rehabilitation Services, also known as Rehabilitation Therapy, is designed to increase independence, prevent further loss of function, or maintain or improve an individual’s quality of life.
Physical Therapists and Occupational Therapists work on functional mobility, balance, body awareness, strength, and range of motion.
Speech Therapists help strengthen swallowing abilities while encouraging increased communication.
All rehabilitation therapists are licensed in the state that they practice and must earn continuing education credits to maintain their license.
We specialize in rehabilitation for orthopedic injuries; joint replacements; strokes; cardiac care; wound care; and physical weaknesses caused by illness, accidents, and surgery.
All programs are tailored to help patients achieve independence. A medical doctor and registered nurse practitioner are available on-site five days a week. Sunshine's gym is equipped with a range of exercise equipment to help residents achieve their therapy and fitness goals.
The first few weeks after a stroke or injury are critical to long-term outcomes. The therapy department provides services 7 days per week, to help patients heal faster.
A Caring Environment for Optimal Healing
Menus are created by our registered dietician and meals are prepared by our professional chef. Activity staff develops programs to stimulate residents through art, music, discussion groups, and community celebrations. Specialized programs focus on restorative nursing and mental sharpness. Assessing and Treating the Whole Person
As a Christian-influenced healthcare provider, Sunshine Health & Rehab offers on-site chaplain services to meet the spiritual needs of residents. We deliver the highest standard of care—where dignity and respect are provided in an environment of hope and comfort. All faiths are welcome.
Our medical social worker and discharge planner helps patients and families connect with community programs before discharge to ease the transition. We are one of the few local rehab facilities that still do a home safety visit before discharge to ensure that all needed safety and accessibility equipment is ordered before discharge, and is there when the patient returns home.
